About the Role:

EY GDS is looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join its Data and Analytics consulting team. The role focuses on building and optimizing cloud-based data engineering solutions using Azure and big data technologies to help global clients solve complex business challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

You will design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Databricks, and PySpark. The role also involves migrating on-premises ETL processes to the cloud, optimizing Spark workloads, working with Delta Lake formats, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• 4–7 years of IT experience, including at least 2+ years of hands-on experience with PySpark and Azure Data Platform technologies.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Spark notebooks.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, Delta Table formats, and ETL migration to cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, SQL Server, and Logic Apps.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact directly with business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing end-to-end data engineering tasks independently.
